You can force this now with the sequential connection of the knowledge retrieval node and the agent, but we'll improve it later

Correct, that is one option. The other option is to create a workflow as a tool that searches for knowledge and the agent uses it.

Another improvement that could be considered is that the agent used in chatlow can have memory of the conversation.
