Request for Multilingual Support in Langchain (docs + etc)

Open sigridjineth opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

I am registering this issue out to request the addition of multilingual support for Langchain python repo

As the user base for Langchain grows, it is becoming increasingly important to accommodate users from different linguistic backgrounds.

Adding support for the multi-language would enable a wider audience to utilize Langchain effectively, and contribute to the project's overall success. Furthermore, this would pave the way for the integration of other languages in the future, making the library even more accessible and user-friendly.

To implement this feature, I will work on the following:

  • [ ] Incorporate a mechanism for detecting and handling different languages, starting from Korean, within the library.
  • [ ] Provide localized documentation and error messages for the supported languages, not limited to docs + system prompt
  • [ ] Enable seamless switching between languages based on user preferences.

Hi, @sigridjineth! I'm Dosu, and I'm here to help the LangChain team manage their backlog. I wanted to let you know that we are marking this issue as stale.

From what I understand, you have requested the addition of multilingual support for the Langchain Python repository. This would involve incorporating language detection, localized documentation and error messages, and seamless language switching. There has been some discussion on this issue, with w00ing tagging several users for their input. However, the issue remains unresolved.

Before we close this issue, we wanted to check with you if it is still relevant to the latest version of the LangChain repository. If it is, please let us know by commenting on this issue. Otherwise, feel free to close the issue yourself, or it will be automatically closed in 7 days.

Thank you for your understanding and contribution to the LangChain project. We appreciate your support!

Best regards, Dosu
