This would be such a powerful tool if available!

I'm also keen, as I'm looking for a way to create a n8n custom agent.

Also interested in this. I need to write an agent class which has capabilities beyond what the current agents support. Would be curious to know the progress on this feature to determine where to put my efforts in my current project.

Guys? There's a giant hole in the documentation.

Custom agents would be super valuable. I thought it was implemented already.

Is there any progress on this? I want to contribute my help on the relevant implementation but would feel more confident if one of the core members leads the effort, since the internals of the overall project are a bit obscure to me still.

Hi, @mathematicsofpaul! I'm Dosu, and I'm here to help the LangChain team manage their backlog. I wanted to let you know that we are marking this issue as stale.

From what I understand, the issue you opened is about the progress of the "Custom Agent Class" for LangChain. There has been some discussion in the comments, with users like awesome-gpt4, RyzorBent, and wt-ai expressing their interest and support for this feature. BishopCrypto also pointed out a gap in the documentation, and chat-guy offered to contribute but requested guidance from core members.

Before we close this issue, we wanted to check with you if it is still relevant to the latest version of the LangChain repository. If it is, please let us know by commenting on the issue. Otherwise, feel free to close the issue yourself, or it will be automatically closed in 7 days.

Thank you for your understanding and contribution to the LangChain project!
