hi there, it would be great to have a final step to encrypt the backups. So it would be possible to use shared/public storages for backup locations.
with openssl (part of ESXi) it would be a bunch of more commands at the end of the script to finally encrypt also e.g. with a ssh-key encrypted symmetric key.
Is there any plan to support this? If no, would you accept a pull request with that feature? (also please advice in which function or in which method I should implement it. It would make the merge easier, since you can directly pull the code)

Hi @dpalic - As mentioned via email, there's no plans to add support for encryption to ghettoVCB.
If you wish to make a contribution and you've done the basic testing along with some feedback from the community, happy to incorporate. ghettoVCB is meant to be a "basic" backup solution and adding more advanced features isn't something I have the cycles to support which includes monitoring all Issues/PRs. The ghettoVCB community has been a huge help in supporting folks and I try to spend as much time as it permits. Thanks for your understanding and interests in contributing
