It seems we'd need to support Mandrill rather than just mailchimp. Other services we should consider: sendgrid, sparkpost, mailgun, amazon ses

since this is primary aimed to freelancers I'd choose whatever lets you send a small amount of emails for free during an extended period. sparkpost and mailgun seem to fit
