Object icons become invisible when compressed

Show and Tell

With a patched objects.package (with modified images saved to a new package in the Overrides folder): If the images are compressed, the icons may be invisible. For example, school/work icons (group ID 0x856ddbac, instance ID 0x7f2dcbc6) can't be seen!

Strange because the original data was compressed. Do packages stored in "Overrides" support compression, or is it a game bug?

For now, 27cf602cb2f9 will force images for objects.package to be uncompressed, to workaround the issue.
