Can you try disabling GPU in the crossover system settings?

Can you try the latest version, v3.3.3? lacymorrow/crossover/releases

The black box persists using v.3.3.3 and disabling hardware. xxc The blue HUD disappear, tho.

Ok, I'm so sorry but I think for now I would stick with version 3.1.5. I'll let you know when I fix this

If this issue still persists, I got mine working by disabling hardware acceleration and enable render GPU using browser. From there, whenever you launch it make sure to use the --no-sandbox flag. (You can do this by editing the args line in the crossover.desktop file. You may also have to edit the one in /usr/share/applications/ as well)

The upcoming version supports these app flags within the UI, comment here to be notified: https://github.com/lacymorrow/crossover/discussions/330

I tried testing v4.0.0-alpha.1. It doesn't open for me. I'll try later. Using Linux mint 21.3, here

That's not good, I'll have to test it myself later

This worked with release 3.1.5, as mentioned in #68.

I can confirm this works with KDE 6 on Wayland (on Arch), 3.1.5 with sandboxxing disabled is flawless. Any version later has the broken background and the 4.0.0 Alpha spams the console when I try to hide the ui.

This is my experience as well on i3wm/picom/Arch. If I use 3.1.5 and --no-sandbox, things work as expected
