Just to add this: I currently use the following logrotate config, without restarting vcontrold: /var/log/vcontrold.log { daily missingok notifempty copytruncate rotate 7 } Not a single crash since.

This actually seems to be an Android upstream problem. I recently reported this very issue for Element X: https://github.com/element-hq/element-x-android/issues/4094

Oh, I didn't find this. Nice it's already discussed. Whatever makes the packages smaller, or at least adds options to choose to do so is fine :-)
