[Feature request]choose from `column` output

Is it possible to choose from column output such as followings?

Choose version:
v1.0.9   v1.0.7   v1.0.5   v1.0.3   v1.0.2  v1.0.1
v1.0.8   v1.0.6   v1.0.4

It's not possible with anything that I've built yet, but it is possible. Will likely be v4 as I've just recently built v3.0.0 in the dev-redesign branch to support a single line or multiple lines and be "inline", i.e. won't clear the screen.

This is going to be pretty difficult to try to implement and will likely be hard to manage because of variable-width options, so it may be it's own branch or need it's own project. The lack of ability to provide backward compatibility is really sucking.
