It's possible that functionality was broken/is no longer available on more recent Nextcloud releases. Have you tried the second option, for moving an existing data directory? If that works, perhaps...

It's removable in that you can unmount it or mount it wherever you like. It's removable from the snap's perspective. The `removable-media` interface covers things mounted in `/media` or `/mnt`....
