Enhancements for Statistical Cards in Cluster Overview and Busola Extensions

Open valentinvieriu opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

As Sebastian and Matthew, we would like to have more detailed and customizable statistical cards in the Cluster Overview.

Acceptance Criteria

  • [ ] Daemon Sets, Services (split by Service type, focusing on Load Balancer type), and Persistent Volumes (focusing on count and total size) are added to the Statistical Cards
  • [ ] Busola Extensions can add items to the Statistical Cards
  • [ ] Cards fill up the space in the Statistical Cards Section
  • [ ] Metadata Section has a fixed width.
  • [ ] Metadata Card has additional information that are now part of Node Section: Service CIDR, IPv4/IPv6 information
  • [ ] Colors of the Graphs follow the newly provided color guidelines
  • [ ] Titles of the Sections on Cluster Overview are Bold and same size

Business Value

This improvement will provide more detailed and customizable information at a glance for both cloud-native engineers and enterprise architects, improving their productivity and decision-making process.

Reasons

Cluster management requires a lot of information to be processed. Having more details readily available in the Cluster Overview helps make the process more efficient. Allowing extensions to add items means that the system can be customized to specific needs, further improving efficiency.

Dependencies

This User Story depends on the availability of the data for the new items to be added to the Statistical Cards and the ability of Busola Extensions to interact with these cards.

Non-functional Requirements

The new features should not significantly impact the performance of the Cluster Overview. The design changes should be implemented in a way that maintains the usability and accessibility of the interface.

Notes and Comments

The design guidelines are provided in the attached Figma file.
