Video-call auto-mute

Hi there, I installed BackgroundMusic to be able to mute notifications while in video calls...because macOS's do-not-disturb features aren't sufficiently customizable (but this seems like a common need!). I want to allow notifications to appear but not to make noise! Slack and Messages are the main offenders but ones I don't want to ignore entirely. Is there any way that BM can detect when a video call is started and ended? I'd like it to auto-engage volume presets for various apps when a video call is in progress. Specifically, Google Meet is my main platform. Thanks for the consideration!
