Trying to use Background Music with Zoom returns mangled audio.
I am using the 0.40 snapshot version on macOS 12.1 and Zoom version 5.9.1. On Background Music, I set the output to be my AirPods, and set the output speaker on Zoom to Background Music, but doing so returns very mangled audio such that I am unable to hear anything.
Same issue here. Mac OS Monterey 12.2.1 sound messes up on Microsoft Teams with AirPods connected
Experiencing the same thing. MacOS 12.2, Apple M1 Max. 0.40 snapshot. Experiencing it whether I use 'Background Music' or 'Background Music (UI Sounds)' in Zoom.
Same issue when using Amazon Chime. I think it has to do with the Headset profiles in BT devices.
Same for me using Slack video calls - except I am not using headphones, the issue occurs on both Macbook speakers and monitor speakers. Was working fine for me on Monterey 12.2.1 up until today
0.4.0-SNAPSHOT fixed this for me.
At first, 0.4.0 seemed to fix it for me, but after a few reboots it came back. Issue appears if I connect my speakers via my monitor on mini display port. As a workaround I have now plugged in my speakers using the headphone outlet on my mac. https://www.screencast.com/t/nU3rboLy74B3
I've had at least one crash of Background Music with that release, the last one was while using Zoom. I suspect Zoom's malware techniques of "making video calls always work" causes the crashes, but that's my uneducated opinion and I have zero evidence it's actually doing anything to Background Music other than coincidence.
This issue is still happening with the current release. FYI
