BackgroundMusic 0.4.0 doesn't appear in menu bar at all.

I've run the installer three times. It appears to install as expected, but when I launch Background Music.app, BackgroundMusic's icon never appears in my menu bar.

The installer I ran is: BackgroundMusic-0.4.0-SNAPSHOT-b38f6dd.pkg. (This is the version linked via an article on the web that recommended BackgroundMusic. I'm unsure if other versions are available or preferred.)

Do you get anything useful in /var/log/install.log? Or any crash reports in Console.app?

You could also try running /Applications/Background\ Music.app/Contents/MacOS/Background\ Music from the command line (Terminal.app) to see if you get any useful output. It's also worth trying searching for "Background Music" in Console.app and then trying to open Background Music.app.

Yes. There was a LOT of text. I wasn’t sure what to include or not, so I copied quite a bit and pasted it into a Text file, which is attached. (I hope GitHub allows attachments.)

This method did not produce any results. Although the app appears to launch, it never appears in the menu bar.

Also, while performing these various tasks, I found that sometimes there’s a space between the two words in "Background Music," and sometimes there isn’t (e.g., "BackgroundMusic"). Furthermore, I sometimes saw "BGM." As a result, I found myself having to search for the three variations on the name. It might be helpful for testing and troubleshooting if this nomenclature could be standardized. 😊
