Not working on Safari M1.Works on other browsers
Not working on safari 15.1 on M1 MacBook air macOS 11. Nothing happens when the slider is dragged.
same problem...
Sometimes, Mac Apps handle their sound output using separate sub-programs instead of threads. For Safari, it's one of the many "com.apple.Webkit…" apps hidden in the "More Apps" submenu. It does work, and it can be volume controlled for each website separately, but surely is non-intuitive.
Very unfortunatly, Safari's processes don't bundle nicely in a father-child - process tree that could be combined into a single controllable item. They rather all belong separately to launchd (ppid==1), so there's no general heuristics for bundling sub-processes and they'd have to be bundled by hand using their names - probably requiring constant maintenance by the dev team down the road.
safari 16.1 I have muted all process but safari audio still go, I think the real audio process of safari isn't listed...
I'm havving the same problems as @3-Fly, I have muted all outputs but the youtube video, on safari, keeps being unmuted
