Doesn't seem to work with Zoom
The volume control does not work with Zoom on video calls
What if you configure Zoom’s Audio Output to “Same as System”?
Then the audio output is strange. It becomes inaudible with some sort of interference or something.
I'm using Mojave 10.14.2 (18C54) btw
Do you get the same interference regardless of the volume setting?
Confirming. The same deamon-like sounds regardless of volume level, need to change the output in Zoom's preferences to Background Music.
Are you still getting this problem with the latest versions of Zoom and Background Music? I haven't been able to reproduce it.
I had a problem where the audio was quiet and seemed to drop out repeatedly, but that was on the other end of the call and still happened without Background Music running.
Does the interference sound like clipping at all? You should try to only use Background Music to increase Zoom's volume if you already have Zoom's output volume and your system volume turned all the way up. Otherwise, you might get unnecessary clipping.
Zoom speaker output must be set to 'same as system' for me.
Btw I still get this problem on Mac 10.15.7 and Zoom 5.4.7.
In Zoom, audio is "same as system".
Zoom wasn't working for me, found this issue.
Setting zoom audio output "same as system" on MacOS 11.3.1 (Big Sur) worked for me.
Setting zoom audio output "same as system" on MacOS 12.0.1 (Monterey) worked for me
Getting the same distorted sound on Sonoma 14.0 when setting device to Same as System
or Background Music
