I've noticed that this sentence needs more work. Please don't use my suggestion, it's only to give you an idea of my suggested way of resolving it.

The reason I'm hesitating with this change is that it's just an opinion. Some people may still prefer a starter kit. Don't want to be too dogmatic about not using one :)
