Make The Topic Window Hideable
Reported by anonymous on 08 Feb 2010 03:39:30 UTC Feature request to be able to make the topic window hideable. Since there is also a request to make it larger, maybe it could be made resizable to 0 rather than hiding

If you hide the topic bar, then you also lose the IrcView toolbar as well. How would you toggle visibility of the topic bar when it's hidden?
Of course the request isn't to also lose something else when you hide the topic bar. It would be the topic bar that is hidden only, so that question is not relevant.
I am still interested in this feature in 2020, more than 10 years after the original request.

The topic bar contains more than just the topic. Hiding just the topic will not reclaim any vertical space.
