External clock sync is not really usable on my macOS set-up
Describe the bug I'm using Element as a VST host for a single audio sequencer. I've been finding that when I sync it to an external MIDI clock the tempo fluctuates a lot, especially after I first press play.
To Reproduce
- Plug in external MIDI device that can send clock (it might also happen without it needing to be external - I will try it)
- Set up Element for an external clock and add some sort of sequencer VST to test timing
- Press play on external clock source
- Observe tempo fluctuating from very slow and gradually reaching the expected tempo and continuing to fluctuate +-1 or 2 bpm
Expected behavior
- Tempo should not be adjusted so quickly on pressing play and irregularities should be smoothed out more effectively so that everything remains musical
Screenshots Here's a stream clip where I explain the problem as best I can! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1179294040 (sorry it takes me a while to explain!)
Desktop (please complete the following information): macOS 12 (but I feel like you'll be able to reproduce this on any system)
Standalone or Plugin Standalone.
