Should use HPA or VPA for ingress-nginx?

Open fred214 opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Hi, recently I plan to enable HPA or VPA on ingress-nginx

  • HPA, need experience set desiredMetricValue, otherwise maybe cause autoscaler shake.
  • VPA, can auto scale down, possible cause traffic disconnetion Is there a best practice on autoscaler, which type should I use? From network traffic angle, it's better to use HPA that can get more network capacity, I want to know when the load is high, which resource the nginx need more, cpu, memory or network?
