We have decided to avoid adding any new feature to ingress nginx for now, and work exclusively on fixing bugs and cves + plan for gateway API to the next release.

Deprecating openresty in favor of njs is part of the current plan, so we are not willing to add more Lua/Openresty code at this point :)
