What is the status of the PR? would be nice if it gets merged as we have to use custom build images atm

@kayrus i see this has been cherry-picked on multiple release branches. can we get a release for those? ( 1.30 and upwards would be ideal in our case )
@nikParasyr 1.30 is not supported anymore :\
I'll try to make a new patch release once I finish the https://github.com/kubernetes/cloud-provider-openstack/issues/2930
