Descheduler on insecure port

Open olivierpilotte opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

Is there a way to run the descheduler on an insecure port? I'm just wondering what's the rationale behind running it on a secure port? Is there a way to provide a ssl certificate? I couldn't find any documentation on this.

Serving KA/KS/KCM on an insecure port has been deprecated and removed to increase security measures. We followed the same. There's no plan to serve on an insecure port.

https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/issues/91506 is one of the issues.

Ok, I understand. In this case, is there any way to provide a SSL certificate to the descheduler?

The Kubernetes project currently lacks enough contributors to adequately respond to all issues and PRs.

This bot triages issues and PRs according to the following rules:

  • After 90d of inactivity, lifecycle/stale is applied
  • After 30d of inactivity since lifecycle/stale was applied, lifecycle/rotten is applied
  • After 30d of inactivity since lifecycle/rotten was applied, the issue is closed

You can:

  • Mark this issue or PR as fresh with /remove-lifecycle stale
  • Mark this issue or PR as rotten with /lifecycle rotten
  • Close this issue or PR with /close
  • Offer to help out with Issue Triage

Please send feedback to sig-contributor-experience at kubernetes/community.

@olivierpilotte unfortunately I am not properly educated in this area to answer the question. I will leave for others to chime in.
