Kubeflow Steering Committee Elections 2025 - Testimonial Phase - Chase Christensen

Why you are running and want to be part of the KSC:
I believe deeply in this community and want to see it thrive. Since joining Arrikto, I’ve championed Kubeflow in every organization I’ve been part of. Even before that, I recognized the need for an open-source, community-driven, cloud-native solution for running ML workloads.
I’ve built enablement programs to help teams understand Kubeflow and worked hard to bring more people into the community. The next phase of Kubeflow is about helping people derive real value from it, regardless of where they work. I want users to feel confident in Kubeflow and inspired to join us as we embrace whatever comes next in AI and ML. The world is moving fast, and the only way forward is together.
Organizations may come and go, but Kubeflow should remain a staple in the careers of those passionate about Kubernetes, AI, ML, and cloud-native infrastructure. We have the potential to empower countless contributors and benefit from their collective talent.
The Kubeflow Steering Committee (KSC) is, at its core, a leadership body that serves the community. Its role is not to dictate or judge but to advocate, partner with other projects, reach out to organizations, and ensure Kubeflow receives the time, talent, and resources it needs to grow. From the KSC, I will have the privilege and the backing of the community to help members get the resources they need and to work with projects and partners from a place of leadership and advocacy.
I hope to earn your vote so that, from the KSC, I can help our community get what it needs to be successful and continue building something truly special.
Together, we can shape Kubeflow into a project that stands alongside Kubernetes and becomes the foundation for the next generation of AI and ML workloads.
If you've read this far, I appreciate your time, and you can always reach out to me directly (Chasecadet) on the CNCF Slack if you'd like to meet me or discuss this further.
How long have you been involved in the Kubeflow Community? What projects have you been actively involved with?
3 years. Mainly involved in outreach. I have built notebooks and enablement for teams, ran POCs at customers buying Kubeflow, built hands on trainings etc.. so I have touched a lot of different aspects of Kubeflow.
How long have you been involved in open-source?
3 years. Kubeflow as my first love.
Is there anything else you would like the community to know about you that you believe would help eligible voters make their decision?
I believe deeply in this community and want a KSC that unifies and says "yes we can" more often than "no we can't." I want a KSC that supports the community, understands its goals through how we use Kubeflow, and finds ways to bring others into the fold. A "no" to Kubeflow can be just as valuable as a "yes" when it helps us learn how to bring more people in, drive adoption, and help them succeed in their careers with this project.
The theme I constantly work by is "what's in it for them," and that is the question I want to keep asking as a member of the KSC, ensuring we achieve what the community sets out to do while bringing everyone along for the journey. If you share this vision, or want to collaborate with someone who is continuously evolving their approach to make Kubeflow work better for you, I hope I’ve earned your vote and will continue to earn it every day on the KSC if elected.
Links to any external sites (projects, hobbies, etc) that you would like to share that would help people make a decision about who to vote for in this election?

If the Kubeflow community wants to step up its game, I am sure Chase will bring a fresh perspective to how the KSC is run and how the community is organized. Seldom I have seen folks so deeply interested in the human and collectives dynamics. Chase is a person who seeks to understand, connect, empower, and build strong foundations of trust and communication that any organized group desperately needs to succeed.
all of that.... plus an amazing understanding of the technology landscape 😄 I'd personally feel enthusiastic (and very curious!) to see him get a seat 🚀
Chase's three years of active involvement in Kubeflow highlight his dedication, particularly in community outreach and enablement. He hasn’t just contributed code; he has actively championed Kubeflow within various organizations, building enablement programs, running POCs, and leading hands-on training sessions to drive real-world adoption and bring new contributors into the fold. This on-the-ground experience ensures he understands how users actually derive value from the platform.
His philosophy for the KSC is exactly what the project needs: a leadership body that unifies, advocates, and partners to ensure Kubeflow receives the necessary time, talent, and resources to thrive. He demonstrates a servant-leader mindset focused on empowering contributors and users alike.
Chase demonstrates a holistic, ecosystem-wide perspective on Kubeflow, transcending individual subprojects and reflecting on the broader project as a whole. Recently, he did a great job MCing the Kubeflow Summit at Kubecon NA. Chase is unique in that he has a rare combination of technical and interpersonal skills. He is inclusive, leads by example, and is a fantastic communicator.
Chase will be a strong, proactive voice on the Steering Committee, dedicated not to dictating, but to supporting the community’s goals and ensuring Kubeflow remains a staple for the next generation of AI and ML workloads.
I’m happy to endorse Chase Christensen for the Kubeflow Steering Committee. For the past three years, Chase has been a dedicated and active member of the community, helping many teams adopt Kubeflow through POCs, trainings, and enablement programs while also sharing his real-world experience with new contributors. He has a clear vision for a KSC that unifies and supports the community, and he leads with an inclusive, servant-leader mindset. Chase is also an excellent communicator—he did a great job MCing the Kubeflow Summit at KubeCon NA and recently hosted the Kubeflow Virtual Symposium. With his mix of technical skill and strong people skills, he would be a great addition to the Steering Committee.
I really like how Chase pushes for helm charts and focuses on user experience and networking. He also brings a lot of enthusiasm and energy to the project.
I am happy to endorse Chase Christensen for the Kubeflow Steering Committee. I still remember how he helped me as well as other contributor to get started contributing to Kubeflow. He shared the courses and motivated most of us to contribute our area of experience.
He also pushed greatly for ARM support with Jeff (from Ampere), that effort is very beneficial for the community. He also helped me and overall community to get access for Kubeflow Oracle cloud tenancy for CI.
He is always energetic to help and engage. I believe he would be a great addition to the Steering Committee.
I’m genuinely excited to recommend Chase Christensen for the Kubeflow Steering Committee. I’ve been really impressed with his dedication to the project. I first met Chase at the Kubeflow training session during AI Day SF 2025, where he shared his passion and knowledge of Kubeflow.
When I was trying to submit my first PR with Kubeflow, Chase was incredibly helpful – he shared valuable resources and really encouraged me to jump in and contribute. That kind of support makes a huge difference for newcomers!
Chase has a great vision for the Steering Committee – focusing on bringing people together and ensuring Kubeflow has the resources and support it needs to thrive. He’s brimming with enthusiasm! I truly believe Chase would be a fantastic addition to the Steering Committee, and I wholeheartedly recommend him.
I would love to recommend Chase for Kubeflow Steering committee. I've been able to work with him as a community member in myriad ways, he's always ready to reach out and support. I really value his insights into the way the community works, and the dynamics involved. Strong recommend!
I think @chasecadet is the right fit for the steering committee and will bring in "lets do it" attitude to the committee. This is one of the important aspect which the committee is missing at this point of time. His insights and way of working will surely open gates for more innovative idea which seem to currently get blocked either due to complex review processes.
I highly recommend @chasecadet for the Kubeflow Steering Committee. HIs dedication on the Kubeflow Outreach Committee showed his passion and impact for the community. Chase has been dedicated to the community independent of his company and shown true passion for the projects and the future of Kubeflow. His commitment to establishing Kubeflow as a platform will drive incredible impact for the community and I believe he will meaningfully impact the project.
I'm pleased to endorse Chase Christensen for the Kubeflow Steering Committee. As my GSoC mentor, his enthusiasm and welcoming approach helped me integrate into the community from the start. His ability to mentor new contributors while driving practical improvements like Helm chart adoption demonstrates a balanced understanding of both community building and technical advancement
