Command for duplicating annotations by using the context menu (right-click on annotation)

Open carloscadux opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

Hi.

Issue: The keyboard shortcuts copy/paste (Ctrl+C > Ctrl+V) don't work over an annotation or even with raster content within same tab. By default, even an annotation is selected, copy/paste (Ctrl+C > Ctrl+V) will duplicate the content of the current tab to a second tab. Copying and pasting content within same tab just work through the context menu, and duplicating an annotation is a lengthy 4-steps process:

  • Right-click
  • Click on Copy
  • Right-click
  • Click on Paste

Suggestion: Add a command for duplicating annotations directly on the context menu (mockup attached), speeding up the duplication process.

Thank you, Carlos

What about having different shortcuts for the annotation copy paste? CTRL+C and CTRL+V is used by ksnip so we cannot use it here but maybe CTRL+ALT+C?

Having a duplicate options doesn't sound bad either.

Copy annotation: CTRL+ALT+C Paste annotation: CTRL+ALT+V

and if possible :)

Duplicate annotation: CTRL+D A shortcut for duplicating would speed up the annotation workflow significantly (very easy to trigger, single-handed). Besides the shortcut, "Duplicate" on the context menu would be so handy and make the command coherent in terms of keystroke <> menu availability of core command.
