Sadly I don't have regular access to a 01v96 any longer, so I more or less abandoned this project. If I did, I would probably reimplement it from scratch anyway using more modern technologies (TypeScript and a UI framework like React or Svelte) - especially the current jQuery implementation for the frontend is getting a bit dated.
You are most welcome to fork this project and experiment with it - there are actually some forks that are quite active at the moment, might be worth checking them out as well.
Most of the protocol implementation was actually trial & error (logging the messages received from the 01v96 should help)... the protocol is very powerful, pretty much anything can be controlled, but it also very confusing (at least to me). The manual contains an Appendix about the MIDI protocol, and there is also an Excel overview of possible messages:
