May be configured improperly and needs to be republished?

Hmm, strange. May I republish once in the future. You can 'manually' install the extension:

  • On the extension's web page https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=krizzdewizz.vscode-typescript-ast-explorer choose 'Download Extension'
  • In VS Code, choose the 'Extension: Install from VSIX...'
