Image Pasting
Feature Description
Ctrl-V to paste clipboard image.
Rationale
It's really useful when you're taking screenshot with something like Windows' "Snip and Sketch" tool.
+1
This is the third issue concerning this feature, I suggest either closing this one or the original. original: https://github.com/krille-chan/fluffychat/issues/203 second (closed by stale bot without fix): https://github.com/krille-chan/fluffychat/issues/589
Also, as mentioned in the second issue, there is a commit for this: https://github.com/krille-chan/fluffychat/commit/2ae4551bcc91a47cef9d31630ab0065cf59d29dc The question is, is this a bug or a feature request?
Agreed.
Based on the commit you linked (2ae4551), it seems it's already possible to paste images, but the hotkey is Ctrl + M instead of Ctrl + V. At least, it works on my side when I tried it. The hotkey used is just odd though 🤔
I just tested this on https://fluffychat.im/web/ (Firefox on Linux), and Ctrl + M (or Ctrl + V) is not pasting the image data from the clipboard. It works on Imgur or Element Web, so the issue is with FluffyChat? Actually Ctrl + M is hotkey for mute in Firefox, and it does that, not paste anything from the clipboard.
Pasting images directly from the clipboard is quite useful feature, and should work with FluffyChat also.
This feature is highly needed, hoping it can be implemented in the official version soon
@krille-chan
Problem is: I know a way to implement it on web, but not on Desktop. Implementing it in web makes me fear that users switching to desktop are then disappointed...
@krille-chan I think implementing this feature on the web version at least would allow users who need it to paste images via the web interface. Saving locally before sending would be quite cumbersome in many usage scenarios
Would be nice to see it at least in web.
It's a choice between disappointing users switching to desktop, and disappointing both desktop and web users.
"Something is better than nothing"
This is still an issue with FluffyChat 2.1.1 on macOS 26.0.1 (25A362). I would argue this is expected functionality for any chat client that can send images.
Ctrl+M would translate to macOS to Cmd+M, which minimizes the application. None of Ctrl+M, Cmd+M, Ctrl+V, or Cmd+V work to paste an image on macOS.
+1
+1 on IOS
+1 for the web. This is the biggest gripe on web right now.
