Adding myself to this. Nomadic identity _really_ is missing from Mastodon (and also could resolve a lot of the disputes all along #12423).

+1 here. Browser notifications also would be great on mobile devices, like the mobile web pages of Mastodon or Twitter do.

Interested to see that, too, at the very least for personal backup reasons.

At the moment, try to logging and choosing Mastodon fails with this exception:
