It isn't finding fish anymore

Any of the places I try to run the simulator now, it just holds the fishing rod at a straight angle and releases it at the last second. My friend has been having the same issue too and she just now downloaded it, whereas I've had it for awhile now and it worked up until recently for me. Please help!
