Explanation of what is the new item "DOTS"

In the latest version of sc-controller, there is a new control called "DOTS" that does not have any explanation what it is about. What buttons or controls need to be clicked/pushed to activate it? How does it work? Tried looking on the wiki and saw nothing.

I think it's the Quick Access button on the Steam Deck (the one with the dots, below the right pad)

How would that be? The Steam Deck indeed has this button, but it has its own interface on sc-controller:

But the problem is that this button appears on the Steam Controller, which does not have it:

Looking at the interface, I just noticed that there are two right grips and two left grips, like in the Steam Deck... So this seems to be that the steam deck setup has somehow inserted into the steam controller setup.
