Switch Pro Controller - Vibration Support?

Open SeongGino opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Hi! I'm using the Switch ProCon through sc-controller, but it seems like it doesn't pass through any vibration?

Vibration works fine with the in-kernel hid-nintendo module on its own, as well as in non-Steam mode through Joycond.

Interesting. Mine Switch Pro Controller claims it has no such support to both sdl2-jstest and evtest, but I'm not entirelly sure if that's bug or feature. What tool are you using for testing yours?

In the absence of sdl2-jstest (which I had at once point, but haven't gotten around to having it built on this setup atm) I'm able to use pretty much any conventional emulator app, as well as in Wine (which also inconveniently doesn't claim it supports vibration either in the control panel...), which it seems to expose the vibration functionality of just fine.

Dolphin Emulator in particular will visibly show the types the controller supports. 2022_06-27 Configure Output-112212 (Strong seems to correlate to the left hand motor, Weak to the right hand side.) And RetroArch, even if it doesn't have the same level of configurable options regarding controllers and rumble (it's autodetect-based and a single toggle-all option), works there too.

I can only assume that this 'lack' of visible support is simply a bug with the utils/kernel module?
