DPAD setup with "Require Click" sometimes holds dpad down [4.9.11]

I've noticed that when I have the DPAD (on a SC) setup to "Require Click", occasionally - after releasing the click the button remains pressed (according to the vigemulated controller, shown in the control panel. This behavior doesn't happen when it's not set to "Require Click" (e.g. just touching it).

2 Years later and i'm also experience this. Anybody found a solution to this yet? I actually don't like touch only :/

It does not look like there has been any work on the Windows version of SC Controller since November 2020. Looks like that version will probably never reach a stable release. You might have to look into reWASD if you want to use the Steam Controller outside of Steam Input.

Although, I have been messing around with making a custom Steam Controller mapper but it has no GUI and relies on editing JSON files directly to create bindings; a profile has to be passed as a cmd argument. It already does more for Steam Controller usage than what reWASD offers though.

To show that it does something, here is a demo video showing using the Steam Controller to play the game Remember Me.
