Usage, different colors in one equation

The README says: It is also possible to set different colors for different parts of the equation. Just access the displayList field and set the textColor on the underlying displays that you want to change the color of.

I can set a color for an equation, but can't set different colors for different parts of an equation anyone can give an code example.
