where is "matlab executable."

On Mac it is here: /Applications/MATLAB_R2020b.app/bin/matlab

Updated the version number to the right value such as MATLAB_R2019a.

It depends on your OS and how you installed matlab. On MacOS and Linux you can check location using which command in terminal:

It'll show location if matlab can be found in your shell PATH
