Notifications if someone addresses you

This requires a background service, and a database of notified messages. This would use the transcript API and wouldn't require being joined. It could be separate from the app itself, so you'd receive notifications wherever and whenever, if you had it enabled. Tapping the notification would bring you to the room the notification is in. You would select the rooms you want to monitor for replies as part of the settings for this feature.

I would love for notifications to work. Any idea when this is likely to be implemented? Anything I could do to help?

Well...I opened this issue two years ago, and I haven't given the app much attention since then. However, the last update I did was because of another user's code contribution (the option to disable image preview), and I'm happy to receive patches with new code.

This is a particularly large feature, though, so it'd require some back and forth between us. If you have any experience with Android development, and maybe ideally you've done a notification system before, you could lead on this and I'd help out where I could.

Another point of info: there's also another Campfire app for Android in the works, and I may start ceding them the territory, if they do a good enough job.
