Is this project still maintained?

Hi I saw that the last commit for this project dates from 2016 and that there are a quite a bit of unmerged pull requests. Does this mean that the project is no longer being actively maintained?

It does appear this project may have been abandoned? Sad because it is a great project. We use this library in the Gerrit Code Review tool and I would like to help improve this quite a bit. It would be nice to get a status update. Is there some fork of this project that is being maintained elsewhere? Is it time to pass the baton so that it can still keep going?
