Render side by side stereo?

Hello, I've been looking for a way to view OpenSCAD in VR while working on a model and stumbled upon this project. I am wondering if it can be easily adapted to render side by side instead of anaglyph. My thinking is that in Unity Editor, I could then use a window sharing plugin to get the texture from OpenSCAD's 3d view and crop it so that half of the image is rendered to each eye.

OK.

FreeCAD renders 3D in OpenGL. The easiest way to obtain what you ask would be to add OpenGL code from FreeCAD to OpenSCAD.
