What happened?

Also, I am completely unable to reproduce it. Since you posted that issue I have ran indexer on local machine both on kusama and polkadot multiple times. Didn't encounter any issue

As you said, it looks like there is something a bit off with counting of references when deleting a token

Your solution of getting the count from db seems legit
