Combobox: Option to hide the options that are selected
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Right now, we show all the options and the selected ones have an indicator.
Describe the solution you'd like It's not a great UX when you have people selecting things from a list, and you want to make it easier to them. Most people want to select, press enter, select, press enter, etc. But if the select is littered with all the options, that's more cumbersome since you have to ve avoiding the selected options.
Describe alternatives you've considered I've tried hiding the elements, but then the arrow navigation is navigating on invisible items. I've also tried to filter the options, but that also breaks in other ways.
Additional context
Not sure I understand what should be hidden in that screenshot.
Do you mean having the first option auto select / inline complete (#235)?
I think that is supposed to be an example picture of what they're asking for? The type of functionality displayed is not the result of a single component, but of a composite though, I haven't taken a crack at something similar, but I don't think making that kind of component is unachievable.
The main thing he's asking is for an option that essentially removes any elements that are selected from the visual listbox, but is still removeable programmatically.
My point is that this, if you want to use the combobox for a tag selector (very common use case), is not good:
Most tag selectors remove the options from the dropdown when added. You can achieve it programmatically by hiding the options yourself, but then this breaks the combobox navigation.
