More granularity on resolution parameter

Sometimes images have very detailed results and I have to go all the way down to a resolution of 2 or 3 to get the result I'm looking for. What could cause this? High input image resolution? It would be nice to allow manual decimal input for the parameters. Thank you for making this awesome program!
