Can you be more specific about what you expect from a projection? Merge? XOR? AND? OR?

What I needed was an ~~OR or~~ Merge projection (across Z levels in that case)

I agree.

A merge projection would be helpful e.g. when you use the Interactive Annotator on multi-channel images and want to use the resulting labeling on all channels (irrespective of which channel was used in the annotator to draw the label).

Yet another use case: when having a labeling of a time series with identified objects, you might want to look at a projection over time to visualize the locations that have been occupied by each object over the whole time period (with the possibility of having overlapping labels, even if the objects are exclusive at any single time point).

In this case, a Merge projection (over Time, or over Z) would help.

Is there a quick way to achieve this with ImgLib2 Views or ImageJ Ops?
