Monitor SIP Trunk Status / Connected Extensions

Is it possible to monitor the status of a SIP trunk and whether extensions are connected?

I would think this is possible. The 3CX interface can do this, so probably via the REST API? Happy to add an item/check.trigger etc to the template if you provide an example REST API query
