Thanks for making and maintaining this! It would be neat to have typing support for checkers like mypy and pyright.
I am generally in support of this. We'd welcome any PRs showing what it might look like!
I believe you'd start by adding mypy to CI, perhaps with quite permissive settings initially. Settings can be turned up gradually, and eventually you'd add a py.typed file so consumers will use your types.
