feature request: granulation pitch

Open ghost opened this issue 6 months ago • 7 comments

adding a pitch control to the granulation controls would be really cool. you already can stretch samples using the granulation, so it would be logical to be able to pitch them up and down using granulation as well

at least it could be a good native alternative to using something like rubberband

Hi, are you talking about granulation for audio samples in the sequencer, or are you talking about the sampler instrument?

both :)

as well as anywhere else radium's granulation is used

It would be useful to know exactly what interface you are requesting. There are lots of ways to change pitch already, but it would be good to know if the interface can be improved.

i don't think the interface needs to be improved, i simply would like for there to be a way to pitch the grains in the granulation up and down

actually, it looks like you can do this already with seqtracks, in the settings for the audio clip. but i suppose my request still applies to the sample player granulation

sorry for the confusion

I immediately see six different ways to change the pitch for the sample player instrument. Maybe you're thinking of a controller that changes the pitch without also changing the length of the sample? I.e. a controller that both changes granulation stretch and samplerate at the same time?

Also, there is a pitch shift effect available to all instruments, all the way to the right in the instrument widget, below "Width" and above "Volume".
