Passing path for ncurses library during configure step

I do not have root access so I cannot install ncurses. However, I have built it and want to pass the path info of ncurses. How can I do that?

Bump. Trying to build on newer macOS and it can't find the home-brew ncurses. Should probably just copy it over.
