Is it possible to enable OpenTherm?

..or otherwise be able to modulate the boiler gas valves for better fuel efficiency and longer boiler life?

Am I right in thinking the only way would be for the firmware to make a WiFi connection and communicate appropriately to an OpenTherm gateway connected to the boiler?

I'm using this great firmware on multiple BHT-002 thermostats to control, both wet and electrical, UFH zones all integrated into Home Assistant.

Also I'd like to add my congratulations to the developers of this superb project!

WThermostatBeca is to control room thermostat. Boiler control is a different device and area. You likely need to listen to MQTT if there is any request for heat demand, and if so, run opentherm command via opentherm shield or similar devices.
