Ao does not open due to core in snap

Describe the bug Suddenly Ao stopped working without any reasons. it literally does not start even after reinstalling

To Reproduce

  1. Just try to start the app and it will not open

Technical Info (please complete the following information)

  • OS: Elementary OS Hera 5.1.7 (Built on Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS)
  • Ao Version: (cannot pull the version number as the same error message appears)

Error Message

$ sudo snap install ao
ao 6.9.0 from Klaus Sinani (klaussinani) installed
$ ao
cannot locate base snap core: No such file or directory
$ ao --debug
cannot locate base snap core: No such file or directory
$ sudo snap refresh core
snap "core" has no updates available
$ sudo snap refresh ao
snap "ao" has no updates available
$ ao --version
cannot locate base snap co

The same for my Manjaro, except Ao doesn't even print error when called from Terminal. Works with the version from AUR tho.

Technical Info:

  • OS: Manjaro Linux x86_64
  • Kernel: 5.10.2-2-MANJARO
  • DE: Plasma 5.20.4 with Wayland
  • Ao Version: 6.9.0

the issue turns out to be due to snap itself; it might be that i messed up with the files or due to snap itself. but when i reinstalled snap; everything got back into working normally. i suggest you try to do so.
