Enable contextual context just for the current element

The problem

I have digged in the code and the following requirement of a client seems to be not possible. Clicking on 'Enable once' should only enable the current contextual element and not all contextual elements of that type. Is this somehow possible with the current code? Can this somehow be patched in?
