Thanks for the bug report. Honestly I don't know for now. If I recall correctly python3.7 wasn't a system dependency to build the target one at least in p4a master. Could you share your buildozer.spec? Also I see a couple of suspicious things or red flags. You installed buildozer with sudo which I clearly don't recommend, yet .local/lib/python3.6/site-packages/ appears on your path. So it's as if installations were mixed up.

Could you please share the output of the follow commands:

which buildozer # to verify the buildozer binary picked up is the one installed by sudo
head $(which buildozer) # to check which Python interpreter is picked up (Python2/Python3)
python3 -c 'import buildozer; print(buildozer)' # to check where is the module installed
buildozer --version

At first I had this issue with the python3.7 interpreter not found on WSL, too, using the stable version of buildozer. Now after a few days I reset WSL and tried with the latest dev version of buildozer, first installed the packages listed in the docker file and then followed the steps in the docs. The build was successful. Maybe try again and check if this issue still occurs for you?

OlafHaag avatar Jun 07 '19 01:06 OlafHaag

Yes there's definitely something that look off, even though I'm not sure it's related. Your buildozer was installed system wide with sudo pip, but some modules like sh are picked up from the local install. Also I don't know why hostpython3 is not being built automatically upfront. I would try a clean install as @OlafHaag proposed. Try this time to not sudo pip you can always pip install --user to keep things tight

AndreMiras avatar Jun 07 '19 06:06 AndreMiras

try -> sudo apt-get install python3.7

purnama11 avatar May 08 '20 14:05 purnama11

try -> sudo apt-get install python3.7

I had the same problem and I was able to solve it with this. Thanks!
